Message from the 2026 President

To our members and partners in the talent development practice – Happy New Year 2026!

We are coming off our diamond anniversary – 60 years of serving the nation by providing a community for the professionals that manage the growth and development of our workforce.

This 2026, we will dream once more and start planting the seeds for the next six decades of our society. While the task might sound daunting, we need not look far to see where the country needs us most.

Anchored in our Philippine Talent Development Framework (TDF), we have a critical role to play in the Talent Journey of every Filipino to build a stronger nation - mula Pagmulat (Discovery of one’s talents), Paglinang-Paghusay (Development of one’s talents towards mastery), Paglaya (Readiness to practice one’s mastery of talents), hanggang Pagtagumpay (Full realization and actualization of talent mastery).

This work ahead of us necessitates transformation as a society – one of which is the adoption of a more inclusive definition of “who” is a Talent Developer. It is no longer just the Learning & Development professional – but also the teachers/educators, the line managers, the private industry executives, and the public sector leaders.

We have embraced this as early as 2018, when we changed our name from the Philippine Society for Training and Development to the current one – the Philippine Society for Talent Development.

2026 will be a year to plant more seeds to help us realize that mandate: The year to expand our membership base beyond L&D, to forge new and longer-term partnerships at the national and regional levels, to build more Junior PSTD organizations at Higher Education Institutions, and more importantly – to equip and strengthen our Regional Chapters.

Together, let’s dream of a Philippines where Filipino talent is realized to its full potential.

Let’s make 2026 the year we kick it up to higher gear.

Manigong bagong taon sa ating lahat!

Lagi’t-laging para sa bayan – sa talento ng mga lider, kawani, at manggagawang Pilipino,

Lawrence Co

2026 President
