AIM and PSTD Seal Partnership for Asia’s First Postgraduate Certificate in Chief Learning Officer Practice
MAKATI CITY, Philippines — The Asian Institute of Management’s School of Executive Education and Lifelong Learning (AIM-SEELL) and the Philippine Society for Talent Development (PSTD) formalized their partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing for the launch of the Postgraduate Certificate in Chief Learning Officer (CLO) Practice. This collaboration represents a strategic step in developing a pipeline of talent development executives who are equipped to navigate the complexities of the C-suite.
The ceremony was attended by key officials from both institutions. Present at the signing were (left to right) AIM SEELL Programs Head Jose Raphael Ibarra, AIM Chief People Officer Aldwin Aris Gregorio, AIM SEELL Head Professor Albert G. Mateo Jr., PSTD President Lawrence Co, PSTD Chairperson Rommel Breccio Ancheta, PSTD Board Secretary Michael Lopez, PSTD Vice President for External Affairs Jemai Duque-Gomez, and PSTD Operations Head Olin Lee.
Designed to transition talent development professionals from operational roles to strategic business partners, the program blends the Institute’s academic rigor with PSTD’s six decades of practitioner excellence. The curriculum focuses on bridging the gap between human capital development and organizational, business-driven strategy.
Prof. Mateo emphasized the transformative power of the program on a national scale. “Leadership development is an investment with a far-reaching ripple effect. Once talent development practitioners become strategic decision-makers, they inspire transformation within their organizations. As companies transform, the industry evolves—and as the industry evolves, our beloved Philippines will transform in the process.”
Echoing this vision, PSTD President Lawrence Co highlighted the historical significance of the union. “This is an answer to a question PSTD has asked for 60 years: how do we develop leaders who are not only technical but strategic for the nation? By partnering with the country’s premier business school, we are co-creating a future-ready solution at every stage of the talent journey.”
The Postgraduate Certificate in Chief Learning Officer Practice features a unique co-teaching model where modules are led by both business leaders from the AIM faculty and talent development experts from PSTD's network of practitioners. This ensures that the learning is both theoretically sound and immediately applicable to the workplace.
A key benefit of the collaboration is the dual community integration. Participants who successfully finish the program will earn AIM alumni status and PSTD membership, providing them access to the region's most influential networks in both business management and talent development.
Through this initiative, AIM-SEELL and PSTD reaffirm their shared commitment to nation-building by elevating the capabilities of Filipino talent, ensuring they remain competitive on a global stage.
