1. To promote an understanding of workplace learning and performance improvement as a basic responsibility of management

2. To serve as a forum for the exchange and discussion of information, ideas and problems related to workplace learning and performance improvement
- E-group as a venue for discussion and sharing of best practices and professional experiences
- Website for information dissemination
- Monthly learning sessions (a.k.a., “Tipanan”) for information exchange and networking
3. To undertake studies and researches for the purpose of seeking more effective means of meeting local training and development needs
- Studies and researches to broaden the knowledge base of training and development in the Philippines
- Directory of training and development resources to address local T&D needs of its members (Resource Guide)
4. To foster closer relations and promote professional development among the practitioners of the HRD & WLP
- Certification on WLP competencies
- Certificate and diploma courses for professional enrichment in partnership with academic institutions
- Fellowship activities
5. To establish, maintain and develop contacts with local and international organizations in matters related to work place learning and performance and HRD
- Liaison with PMAP, ASTD, ARTDO, IFTDO and other international organizations in the field of T&D as the official representative of the country
- Delegations for attendance to international conferences and conventions
