These are just some of many roles Dr. Richard S. Wellins
have been successful at for more than 20 years with DDI.
Rich, as he is known, is currently the Senior Vice
President of Global Marketing and New Business Development
wherein he is tasked to execute the company’s corporate
marketing strategies, build internal knowledge management
systems and processes and provide consultation in the areas
of employee relations and executive level assessment. Prior
to working at DDI, he became a senior research psychologist
at the U.S. Army Research Institute and an
Assistant Professor of I/O psychology at Western Connecticut
State University in Danbury. He obtained his
Doctorate degree in Social/Industrial Psychology from
American University, and is a member of the American
Society for Training and Development (ASTD), the Society for
Human Resource Management (SHRM), and the Instructional
Systems Association. He has written for more than 20
publications and published six books, including the best
seller Empowered Teams, Inside Teams, and
Reengineering’s Missing Ingredient.
DESCRIPTION OF THE TALK
As our business evolves, our role as workplace learning and performance
specialists becomes far more critical to the success of our
organizations. It becomes essential that we evolve as our
organizations change -- keeping one step ahead of the skills
and knowledge of the competencies we will need to add value
to our internal or external clients.
DDI, working in partnership with ASTD, has just released a
new landmark study entitled “Mapping the Future: New
Workplace Learning and Performance Competencies”. The
study, involving over 3,500 ASTD members and experts in our
profession from around the world, paints a detailed picture
of the future professional success. |
