PERFECT BLEND:
INNOVATIVE APPROACH IN PLDT VALUES TRAINING

Jesus Gregorio Noriega
Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company
Plenary Speaker

CURRICULUM VITAE

“Nonong”, as he is fondly called, is the Division Head of Employee Development of PLDT.  A “teacher” by training, he has shown even at a very young age his gifted abilities in music, oral and written communication.  He has been involved as composer/arranger, musical director in various theatrical groups.  His facility in communicating his ideas, thoughts and feelings has paved the way to his numerous achievements as a trainor and a full-pledged HRD practitioner.  He is known for being a powerful Motivational Speaker, expert Training Facilitator, and flexible HRD Consultant handling various Human Resource & Organizational Development courses and interventions, both for PLDT and its subsidiary companies.  Nonong, in collaboration with the “Perfect Blend Culture Club”, has innovatively and effectively made use of various methodologies including the performing arts in imparting corporate values to PLDT.  Perfect Blend was a timely intervention for the company as it celebrated its 75th Anniversary in 2003. It prodded employees to embrace the new PLDT corporate values and to take up the challenge in continuing to lead the telecommunications industry amidst the ever changing and competitive times.

DESCRIPTION OF THE TALK

Perfect Blend is an original musical play that became the vehicle for propagating the practice of work values in PLDT during the company's 75th year anniversary. The plot revolves around six friends from different departments who regularly meets in a coffee shop and share experiences and insights on teamwork, open communication, mental integrity, financial honesty, customer focus and job commitment. Staged thrice at the Carlos P. Romulo theatre, the production proved historical for its fresh and trailblazing approach in motivating teams with a lot of positive attitudinal reinforcement.
