CURRICULUM VITAE
Arthur Luis P. Florentin is a man of few words but makes
sure that, however brief his interactions are with people,
it will count. Perhaps, this is why he is admired by most
practitioners in the HROD field. Turok, as he is fondly
called, is currently the AVP and Head of the Human Resources
Development of MERALCO. He is also the Executive Director
and Member of the Board of Trustees of the MMLDC Foundation
Inc., and the VP, Treasurer and Member of the Board of
Directors of the Asian Center for Energy Management. A true
advocate of learning, he has facilitated significant
training and development interventions in his nearly 30
years of service to MERALCO, one of which was the creation
of the ISO 9001:2000 certified MML Development Center in
Antipolo, Rizal. Among his notable achievements were:
President of the Philippine Society for Training and
Development (PSTD) – 2003; Chairman of the HR Functional
Group Committee of the Personnel Management Association of
the Philippines (PMAP) – 2003; and Core Member of the HR
Council of the Lopez Group of Companies from 1999-2004.
Currently, he is working on his Doctorate degree in
Educational Psychology at the University of the Philippines,
from which he also obtained his BS Statistics and Masters in
Industrial Relations. He also lends his expertise and
experience as one of the lecturers for the
Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Training Development and
Management at the School of Professional and Continuing
Education, DLSU College of St. Benilde.
DESCRIPTION OF THE TALK
This
is a presentation of the results of the first ever PSTD
initiated survey on Corporate Training Practices with
the objective of providing an industry situationer on
prevailing practices. The survey covered areas such as:
managing the training function; training needs analysis;
curriculum development and course design; course management;
teaching and facilitating; course evaluation; and emerging
trends in the field of Training and Development. |
